Independent Legal Advice (Binding Financial Agreement) – $900 fixed fee

If your partner, spouse, or ex has had a Binding Financial Agreement (BFA) prepared, you’ll need independent legal advice before signing.

What’s included:

• Correspondence with you

• A comprehensive review of the Agreement and provision of our independent legal advice. Please note: this review is strictly to review the BFA and provide advice. It does not include negotiating or amending a BFA drafted by another lawyer

• Issuance of a Solicitor’s Statement of Independent Legal Advice

Additional Fees

Amendments / Negotiation: If you request changes based on our above review, a fixed fee of $300 per round of amendments applies. This includes:

• Discussing the requested changes with you;

• Contacting the other side to request amendments; and

• Reviewing the revised BFA once received.

If further rounds of amendments are required, each subsequent round is charged at $300.

Superannuation Split: If a superannuation split is required under a separation BFA, an additional fixed fee of $300 applies to manage that process.

Fee Summary

• $900 – Review of the BFA, provision of independent legal advice, and issuance of a Solicitor’s Statement of Independent Legal Advice;

• $300 – Each round of amendments or negotiations requested by you;

• $300 – Managing a superannuation split under a Separation BFA.
